Brittany Conrad

Brittany Conrad joined the bass section of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in
September 2022 after playing three seasons with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. She performs regularly with the Philadelphia Orchestra and has also made appearances with the Minnesota Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. She has also spent recent summers collaborating with the Fine Arts Quartet, and performing at the Bellingham Festival of Music, the Lakes Area Music Festival, and the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival. In addition to performing, Brittany enjoys teaching. She holds an adjunct faculty position at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has also taught at the Symposium for Women and Nonbinary Bassists at the Curtis Institute and has presented masterclasses at the Colburn School and Northwestern University. Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Ms. Conrad’s first significant teacher was Joseph Conyers. She subsequently received her bachelor’s degree from the Colburn Conservatory of Music studying with Peter Lloyd, and her master’s degree from the Juilliard School studying with Harold Robinson and Rex Surany. |
