Teddy Wiggins
violin
Teddy Wiggins, violinist, is a member of the New Jersey Symphony and an alumnus of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach. He has performed with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Verbier Festival Orchestra, Grant Park Symphony Orchestra, and many others. Often in principal roles, Mr. Wiggins has played under the world’s leading conductors, including Michael Tilson Thomas, Roberto Abbado, John Williams, and Xian Zhang.
His enthusiasm for chamber music and studio recording has kept Mr. Wiggins active across North America. He was a founding member of the Toronto-based Annex Quartet, and performed with them alongside the Kronos Quartet in a program of contemporary music at Carnegie Hall. In 2021, Mr. Wiggins joined the Willy Street Chamber Players (WSCP) as a core member for their summer concert series in Madison, WI. In addition to WSCP, he has also performed at the Stoughton Chamber Music Festival and ‘Concerts on the Square’ with the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. As a freelance musician, Mr. Wiggins has explored and taken interest in a wide variety of musical genres. He has collaborated with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, The Eagles, Regina Spektor, Kanye West, Ledisi, and Measha Brueggergosman. Based in Seattle, he is a frequent performer with the North Corner Chamber Orchestra (NOCCO) and the Seattle Candlelight concert series.
During his fellowship with New World Symphony, Mr. Wiggins created ‘Music Bites’, an interactive, multi-course dinner concert experience where every dish was carefully crafted to reflect the moods of each piece. He also helped to organize casual pop-up concerts in atypical venues (bars, art galleries, etc) around Miami. While a member of Grant Park Festival’s Project Inclusion String Quartet, Mr. Wiggins was given the opportunity to engage the children and families of Chicago’s traditionally underrepresented communities through free, educational outdoor music programs.
Mr. Wiggins is a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and The Glenn Gould School at The Royal Conservatory in Toronto. He is grateful for his principal teachers, who include Paul Kantor, Felicia Moye, Barry Shiffman, Kelly Barr, and Winifred Crock.
