The Willy Street Chamber Players are introducing a brand new way to experience live music designed with safety in mind.
MADISON, WI, October 26, 2020 Have you ever wanted to attend your own private LIVE concert? 1-on-1 micro-concerts are in-person, intimate musical experiences curated for the moment.
“The pandemic has not been easy for musicians and artists, and we know this has been a devastating time for so many in our community. We wanted to rise to the challenge of finding a way to share live music safely” says WSCP Founder and Artistic Director Paran Amirinazari (top right).
The Willy Street Chamber Players are a dynamic group of string musicians formed in 2015 dedicated to creating community through classical music. Recently awarded a gold medal in Madison Magazine’s “Best of Madison” reader poll, the group has received wide critical acclaim for its accessible and exciting performances, intelligent and fun programming, and community partnerships. Though WSCP’s popular summer concert series had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, the group has reimagined its 2020 season with safety in mind.
Up to two guests from the same household may sign up for a private 10-minute slot at the location of their choice to view what the group is calling a “living, breathing musical art exhibit.” Locations include the new Arts + Literature Laboratory, the historic Garver Feed Mill, and the intimate and eclectic A Place To Be. Ticket prices will operate on a “pay what you choose” structure. The group has suggested a $20 donation per person.

“When you enter the room and sit down, two members of the Willy Street Chamber Players will curate a personalized concert just for you. The musicians won’t take requests or act as jukeboxes, but will instead choose from a wide variety of pre-prepared solo and duo works in the moment. Micro-concerts are solely about the music- enter the room as you are, in silence, and with an open mind” says WSCP Co-Founder Eleanor Bartsch (top left).
“This type of deeply personal experience would not really have been imaginable before the pandemic” says Amirinazari. “We encourage you to make your concert what you need it to be in this time: 10 minutes of meditation, healing, escape, positivity, relaxation, or simply beautiful music.”
